The myth is common.

The myth that only the French and Swiss are capable of turning out amazing pastries and baked goods.

So now is the time to put the myth to rest.

Asian bakers and pastry chefs turn out some of the most creative, tastiest and unique pastries you can buy.

A case in point – Saint Germain Bakery.

They have been in business for 21 years and today they operate four outlets in Metro Vancouver.

And Saint Germain Bakery goodies are sold in Chicago and Seattle. Even some of the world’s top airlines out of Vancouver serve the company’s confectionary delights to their customers.

Heading up the team of culinary wizards is the company’s young pastry chef – Mickey Zhao.

His credentials are amazing. He has won a slew of gold medals from international and national competitions for his outstanding pastries.

And no wonder chef Mickey’s pastries are original, creative and have that “wow” factor when you taste them.

Many are works of art; they are so stunning and beautiful to look at.

He often combines traditional western ingredients with Asian ones and the combination is outstanding.

Our favourite, and there are many more, are the Macarons. They consist of a delicate, egg shell-like crust that is moist and airy on the inside.

They come in a variety of flavours and they are light, crunchy and the creamy fillings are totally out of this world.

And to top it all off the prices are more than reasonable, in fact much cheaper than what you would pay at most well-known Vancouver pastry and bakery shops.

Check out the goodies and the locations.
